My name is Trevis Harrold and I am running for State Representative in Rochester, Rochester Hills, and Oakland Township.
Whether it was volunteering in the community with my mom, working with the U.S. State Department at our embassies in Jamaica, Kosovo and Mexico, or serving in the United States Army Reserve as an Army officer, I have always felt a strong calling to public service.
I grew up in Saginaw, raised by a single mother who worked at our local public school to support our family. I played a little football at Eastern before I first developed an interest and then a passion for serving our country. I won a fellowship to the Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan, where I was the youngest scholar in the program. After earning my Masters, I went on to join the U.S. Diplomatic Corp, serving in our embassies abroad. I came back to Michigan and worked with Dow as their global public policy leader.
That same call to service inspired me to join the U.S. Army Reserve as an Army officer where I’ve earned the rank of First Lieutenant, fighting to keep the United States and Michigan safe and strong.
Now I live in Rochester, where I volunteer to improve the lives of veterans through the American Legion, helping vets develop job skills that ease their transition to the civilian workforce.
Towns like Rochester thrive when good people step up to do what’s best for the community. That’s what public service is all about.
Rochester is special. We’re proud of our schools and our beautiful neighborhoods and downtown. Rochester is a community where duty, service, and honor are integrated into who we are. We share a set of priorities and values, and we want to keep this the kind of community that’s a great place to live and raise a family.
That’s why I’m running for State Representative. My commitment to you as a candidate is to work every day to keep our community safe, strong, and exceptional. To make sure our schools remain among the best in the state. And to faithfully represent your values in Lansing.
I was deeply disappointed when our current representative opposed tax cuts for working people and retirees and common-sense gun safety legislation that helps keep our kids safe at school. He even opposed repealing the archaic 1931 law that outlaws abortion even in cases of rape and incest.
That’s not who we are in the Greater Rochester area.
We can do better, and with your help, we will. I am asking for your support as we start this campaign to be the kind of representative that shares your values and priorities. I am here to listen to your ideas and concerns, and to serve you in Lansing.
Please join us.
“I have spent my life in public service fighting every day to make our community safer and stronger. In Lansing, you can count on me to do the same for Rochester, Rochester Hills, Oakland Township, and the whole state of Michigan..”
